This is a delightful country garden which is now opened to visitors each year. The requirement was for a a sitting area in the south east corner, which is the sunniest part of the garden, and a vegetable patch hidden in the north east corner. The gazebo was already existing and it needed to be incorporated in the new design. The large apple tree created a small headache but I created a woodland garden around its base providing another approach to the feature pond and sitting area.

A traditional pergola was included, covering the entrance to the garden covered with roses and clematis. This opened out on the expansive lawn offering the visitor a choise of directions. To the right is the house and the old gazebo and steps leading to a small house garden with irregular paths and a planting scheme leaning heavily towards the winter and spring to provide interest from the conservatory all the year round. To the left is the pond garden with the circular sitting area position like an island over the canal-like pond. The path winds from the house arouind the gazebo, across the pool and passed the sitting area into the vegetable patch which is hidden in the north east corner.
